Richards spoke again, condemning the RFU's arrogant attitude and claiming that their main motive for promoting the tour was a financial one. He slated that it was the responsibility of the NZ Government to stop the Springboks from coming, as they have the authority under the Gleneagles agreement and NZ law. By denying visas to the Springboks, the Government would be siding with the majority of other countries in the Commonwealth who have already done so in the past.
