This fifty volume series covers all areas of New Zealand's involvement in the Second World War, from detailed accounts of particular battalions, to the political and economic background and consequences, to full accounts of particular episodes and campaigns.
The entire series is available to browse and search online. In addition to the volumes themselves, there is some supplementary information about this project available, including contact details of those who may be able to help with enquiries regarding the content of the War Histories.
This series was first published as part of the Official History of New Zealand in the Second World War, produced under the auspices of the War History Branch of the Department of Internal Affairs. It has been republished online with the permission of the Minstry for Culture and Heritage as an exact copy of the printed version, and has not been corrected and will not be updated.
