My Dear Sewell,
—Simeon passed yesterday here; and a very pleasant day it was for me.
He told me that he considered your official position settled in fact, and that it would surely be settled in form this day.
page 298After much talk we "concluded," as Jonathan says, that you might work this thing into so prosperous a state, as to make it desirable for the Association to retain your services permanently, with a salary like that which our Consul at Hambro' had when, he was the first Secretary of the New Zealand Company.
