The Founders of Canterbury

Reigate, 8th February, 1850

Reigate, 8th February, 1850.

My Dear Wynter,

—In consequence of receiving the enclosed (which please return to me), I am going to London to keep an appointment which I have made by letter with Godley's friends for half-past twelve to-morrow at Charing Cross. They will probably all be there. So, I now regret that your visit had not been postponed till to-morrow. And ignorant of what you have done to-day, I suppose it possible that you may wish to avail yourself of this meeting. My business will be the subject of a lay leader in the Adelphi: page 216yours would be that of the religious leader. But if you have pleased yourself to-day, this idea is good for nothing.
