The Founders of Canterbury

My Dear Rintoul,
—I cannot mend" the sum of Colonial Reform": it is so excellent.
I shall begin now on a New Zealand paper for next week: and you will have to deal with the Society. On that subject FitzGerald has written (very well) an article for the Colonial Magazine; but I beg him to consult you as to the policy of publishing even in that obscure journal. If it were politic to say publicly what he says, and it could be said in less space, the Spectator would be the best voice. It is really well done, I think.
