The Founders of Canterbury
John Hutt, Esq. Reigate, 24th November, 1849
My Dear Hutt,
—It is so important that the Lady Nugent should touch at Port Cooper, and the expense (£40) so clearly, I think, belongs to the Association, that I trust you will not hesitate to comply with the desire of the Company that this expense should be borne by the Association.
P.S.—I spoke to Godley about your matter, who undertook that a letter shall be written to you by the Association, such as I proposed.
