The Founders of Canterbury

Reigate, 17th November, 1849

Reigate, 17th November, 1849.

My Dear Godley,

—If well enough, I shall surely go to see you at Plymouth; but I cannot feel sure of being well enough; and therefore I long for one more meeting here.

Pray send back the enclosed, which increases my regret at the loss of Wynter if he be "irrevocably" lost. At any rate, I shall endeavour to induce him to join the Association, where he would be of great serviee. What might come of his joining nobody can tell.

I will diligently attend to your wishes with regard to Mr. Wynne; and I think that a recast of the pamphlet, with descriptive additions and a map of the settlement, would be a nice piece of work for him. His pamphlet is plain and pleasing.
