the author: Jim Henderson, born at Motueka on 26 August 1918, was educated at Nelson College. A gunner with 29 Battery New Zealand Artillery, he was severely wounded and taken prisoner of war at Sidi Rezegh on 1 December 1941. The author of Gunner Inglorious, he is at present writing the history of 22 Battalion.
