(a) United Kingdom

‘The Campaign in Crete’, compiled for the United Kingdom Cabinet Historical Section by Lt-Col E. E. Rich, as well as giving an account on which the present author has leaned heavily in the early stages of his own history, contains a bibliography with a very full list of war diaries and official documents. These have been consulted in the War Office archives for the present work where they were available and relevant. Except for the two exceptionally important reports by Maj-Gen Weston and Gp Capt Beamish, the following list consists of documents not given in Rich's bibliography because they were not available to him at the time he was writing:
