In view of the threatening situation in the Pacific His Majesty's Government in New Zealand have now decided to accelerate to the utmost degree possible the despatch to Suva of the contemplated Brigade Group. It is proposed therefore that the first portion, consisting of approximately 1000 men, will leave New Zealand for Suva on about 27 October….1 It is proposed that a further 1000 troops will be despatched approximately a week later and the remainder as soon as possible.

In addition it is proposed to despatch four land planes as soon as possible….2
