Graveyard Vespers

Voices of the half hidden people,
I hear them in the night.
I hear them in my dreams, sad voices,
That never speak by day.

Half-hidden in the earthy places,
Out of reach of tongue and eye.
They never, never speak the language,
Of the daytime that we know.
