Manly Mansions of the Mind
Manly Mansions of the Mind.
As I peer at all the houses
Slumbering atop the hills,
O, my God, it makes me wonder
How their inmates find their bread.
Dad must be some business Magnate;
Dad must run some City show;
Dad is this and that and what not;
Dad and Mum have cause to blow.
'Tis the same in every country:
Houses, houses everywhere.
Rich and poor, they all have families—
Marvel is . . . just how they live.
O my eves look to the hill-tops,
Waiting patiently for God,
For that House of Many Mansions
In the mists above the hills.
