High Quality of Debate
Meetings at Weir House are quite an entertainmnet these days —they are reminiscent more perhaps of the French CHAMBER OF Deputies than the staid Mother of all British Consitutions. Not everybody is treadted to imprompta lecures on mob psychology, while the exquisite pleasure of Mr. Donne's rendering of the library report is a joy reserved for the elite Practical affairs such as ping-pong tablels were dealt with by Mr. Hatherly, who deplored the procrastination of the Committee in not providing for the physical and cultural welfare of the Residents. After expressing indiffernce to Mr. Hardings's complaint about getting his shoes wet in the swamp at the bottom of the path, the meeting rose in time for dinner.
