Tramping Club

Tramping Club

At least one record was made at the annual meeting of the Tramping Club. Professor Boyd-Wilson who was re-elected as president, has held that office continuously since the club's inception in 1921.

The meeting could be described as apathetic to the uninitiated, but very interesting to those "in the know." A motion that all annual meetings shall be held at Victoria College forestalled nay future ambitions to air the members' viewpoints while perched on some rocky outcrop or amidst the dark shadows of some ill-lit hut.

The following officers were elected:—President, Professor BoydWilson; Vice-Presidents, Dr. Beaglehole and Mr. F. B. Thompson; Hon. Secretary-Treasurer, C. Shaw; Chief Guide, J. H. Croxton; Committee, Misses K. Muir and R. Wright, Messrs. M. R. Coup, A. r. Perry, C. W. Stewart, C. N. Watson-Munro.

Then followed an address by Mr. A. C. Gifford on "Early Days in the Hollyford," which served well to introduce some excelllent slides depicting the Hollyford and Cleddan basins.
