The Toast of the Club.
After "Smad" had polished off an excellent repast, the Solicitor-General rose to propose the health of the Faculty. He stressed the importance of health, the reading of cultural literature, the knowledge of accountancy and science. The profession, he said, is a cultured, thoughtful and dignified one, and a lawyer should be a natural leader of the community.
Mr. A. T. S. McGhie then replied in characteristic fashion, punctuating his speech with numerous quotations.
