Fresher Women Welcomed

Fresher Women Welcomed

The Women's Club is to be congratulated on the enterprise shown in arranging for a distinguished old student, Miss F. Irvine-Smith to address the Freshettes. In addition to being a prominent member of the Women's Hockey Club in the early days of Victoria College, Miss Irviine-Smith took part in all phases of Varsity life, and it is to her that we owe the artistic disign which now adorns the cover of "Spike."

After Miss Hurley, the president or the club had extended the official welcome, the speaker for the evening gave a very interesting address in which she paid a tribute to the work of the Foundation Professors of Victoria College, interspersing her remarks with delightful reminiscences of early College life.

At the conclusion of the address, enjoyable items were given by Misses R. Miller and J. Powell, while members of the Glee Club availed themselves of the opportunity to put in some solid practice for the coming year.
