Elections

Elections.

Dear Smad.

Now that the Stud. Ass. elections are drawing near once more, let us prepare in advance and have some active campaigning this year. There are numerous issues that could well be raised, and an active electioneering campaign would do much to create more interest in University affairs. Here are several issues that I would like to see raised:

(1)Should the matter of greater student representation in the control of College affairs be brought up again in a greater effort to secure this end. Everyone must agree on the benefits to be derived, say, from representation on the College Council. Why are we making no effort?
(2)There is next the issue of the proposed Student Union Building. Are we to build a pyramid as ant, each bringing one grain of sand or one brick per annum, or is there to be some more active policy.
(3)A third matter well worth being an election issue is the question whether we should as students take interest in and ex student opinion on outside affairs, or whether, in order to preserve "the dignity and good name of the College," we should remain as students on a lofty pinnacle of impartiality?

Yours,

Voter.
