Cynical Indifference of Executive

Cynical Indifference of Executive.

Friday, 1st March.

An air of [unclear: "deceuty"] preveiled throughout the Executive's discussion of "Smad" (reporter being present). It was [unclear: obvi] that at all costs "Smad" must be [unclear: lept] "naice," although a Consor with not be appointed ("Not until we have to said Mr. Burns)

Mr. McGhie considered that the staff of "Smad" should be given adequate seating accommodation in the "Smad" room, but Mr. Bradshaw, seated in a comfortable chair, was of opinion that [unclear: It] people could sit on three chairs and still produce a satisfactory newspaper. Apparcutly seven would wal: about outside, receiving inspirations and calling them out to the three who had managed to find chair.

Four chairs were voted. Such generosity merits some [unclear: reward] We hope the Executive will keep a heavy guard over its own chair this year.
