5.Relays of residents shall be arranged so that the Warder and Matron may be supported for as long as possible

(N.B.—Contravention of Rules 6 or 7 entails forfeit of unpaid fees.)

8.Dining is not allowed in the smoking-room.
9.Shouting, whistling, and other unseemly noises are permitted in rooms, common rooms, etc., in fact anywhere except on staircases and in corridors.
10.Residents are expected to take action against any but adjoining proprietors (now "landed"), and are to leave the fence intact.
