Know all men by these presents that I Ruinga a Native Chief of New Zealand living at 1846. 18 February.Auckland District.Awanga.Whitaker and Halls. Waiheki do hereby sell convey and assure unto Frederick Whitaker and John Halls All that Bay situate between Tanawanui and The Huruhie called or known by the name of Te awanga, and a strip of land running therefrom (being the width of the said Bay) over the hill and along the range to the Land originally purchased by the said Frederick [700 acres.] Whitaker and John Halls as the same is described in the plan above drawn, With all the appurtenances thereunto belonging. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 18th day of February in the year of our Lord 1846.
