1839. 1 October.Hokianga District.Be it known to all Men That us John Johnstone and William Thomas Nicholas both of Te Teo.New Zealand and whose names are within written have this day the first day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty-nine Sold and made Alexander Chapman.over all our Rights Title and Interest to the whole of the Lands &c. as accurately described in the foregoing Deed or Instrument for and in consideration of the sum of Receipt for £20.Twenty Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain which We hereby Acknowledge to have received as a full and just payment for the same from Alexander Chapman of the river Hokianga to whom we hereby convey and transfer the same and to His heirs and assigns for ever as Witness our hands and Seals the day of the year to this written.
