Translation.
We have received on this 21 day of June in the year of Our Lord
1854 the sum of 1854. 21 June. £150 being the first instalment paid to us by Mr. McLean for certain land of
ours Arohaki. at Piako called Arohaki. Receipt for £150, first instalment
These are the boundaries: Commencing at Waikaka thence to Mangawhero here it turns
back leaving Mangawhero out thence to Tikapu thence to Pukenui thence to Te Heru it
goes back from here and on to Tikou thence to the Piako river which is Boundaries. the boundary to the shore.
Now we have entirely given up this land to Victoria the Queen of Enaland and to the
Kings or Queens who may succeed Her together with its trees; its rocks and all
things appertaining unto it for ever.
For the Receipt of this money we have hereunto subscribed our names and made our
marks.
