1854. 8 August.Hauraki District.We have received from Mr. McLean the sum of One hundred pounds (£100) once told. This is the first instalment for Te Rangiora at Hauraki. The boundary commences at Herewaka thence to Rurunui and on to Kopaitoetoe, te Rangiora, te Mako-mako Rangiora. te Mataea, Heikapua, Akawhero, te Kauati, te Wakahinewai, then it joins the Boundarics. boundary of Hotukiwi along which it proceeds to Herewaka. We have for ever given Receipt for £100, first payment. up this land to the Queen of England with its streams, timber, minerals, and all thereunto appertaining And in testimony of the receipt of the said One hundred pounds (£100) we hereunto affix our names and marks. When the land has been surveyed, the total amount of payment will be decided upon. Our names were written on this 8th day of August in the year of our Lord 1854.
