Translation.
1856. 18 April.Kopiri, &c. I have received from Mr. McLean the sum of Ten pounds
being a payment for the final relinquishment of all the claims which have been sold
to the Europeans in the Manukau District that is for Te Kopiri for Kaitara, for
Kokohau, for Witianga, for Omanawa, for Receipt for £10 (Ihaia’s claims). Opurangi;—all which portions are now entirely given up to Victoria the Queen
of England, to the Kings or Queens who may succeed her for ever and ever, on this
eighteenth 18th day of April in the year of our Lord 1856.
