Translation.

I have received from Mr. McLean this the fifth day of September in the year 1855, 1855. 5 September. the sum of Fifteen pounds (£15) as payment for my claims in the Tomotomo and Tirikohua (Ruka’s Claims). the Wakapipi and Purahokura, and Matamata o Taumore, these Lands I fully give up and make over under the shining sun of this day to the Queen of England, for ever and Receipt for £15. ever. I shall not claim or interfere with any of these lands whatsoever, at Tirikohua, which has formerly been sold to the Europeans, because I have now received this sum of money in liquidation for my claims on these Lands.
