Translation.
We have received this ninth (9) day of August in the year of our
Lord 1854 the sum 1854. 9 August.
Opoia. of Thirty five pounds (£35) being the first instalment for our land named
Opoia situated at Manukau. The boundary commences at Omahuru thence to Hikurangi,
Boundaries. turning thence to Opoia, thence to the beach at Paratio, and thence to
Omahuru. The total amount of purchase money will be decided upon when the land has
been surveyed. Receipt for £35, first instalment. And in testimony of the receipt of these monies from Mr. McLean on this day,
we hereunto affix our names.
