Kua riro mai i au inaianei i tenei ra i te tekau ma rua o Hurai 1854 nga pauna moni 1854. 12 July. Auckland District. Opopo. kotahi tekau ma rima takitahi (£15) na te Makarini i homai ki oku ringa. Ko enei £15, advance. moni me tango mar i roto o nga moni e takoto ake nei mo Opopo kei Waiheke. E rua rau o nga moni mo taua wahi. Ko enei moni tekau ma rima (£15) me tango mai i roto o aua moni. Nokonei i tuhia ai toku ingoa me toku tohu.

Translation.

Auckland, 12th July, 1854.
I have received this twelfth day of July 1854 the sum of Fifteen Pounds (£15) from 1854. 12 July. Mr. McLean. These monies are to be deducted from the amount still due for Opopo Opopo. at Waiheke namely Two Hundred pounds. These Fifteen pounds are to be deducted Receipt for £15, advance. therefrom. On the receipt of which I hereunto affix my name and mark.
