Translation.

Auckland, 3 October, 1862.
I have received from Mr. Smith the sum of One Hundred Pounds (£100) as first 1862. 3 October. instalment for one side of Mahakirau (outside of). There are about 1800 acres, and Outside Mahakirau No. 2. when the survey of that land is completed and the boundaries pointed out then payment will be made at the same rate as that paid for Mahakirau. Receipt for £100.
