Translation.
Auckland,
October 10, 1862
1862 10 October.This certifies that Mr. Rogan has given me this day the sum of
one hundred pounds; Mareretu. this is a payment for the Law suit of the Uri-o-hau that I shall give into
the lawyer’s hands.
Receipt for £100, advance. Now this money is advanced on "Mareretu" at Kaipara and when the land is
surveyed this money will be repaid.
