Translation.

I have received from Mr. McLean the sum of Ten Pounds (£10 . 0 . 0) on this day 1856. 30 January. the thirtieth (30) of the days of January 1856: being the remaining portion of a sum Awakino. of Thirty Pounds, which it was agreed should be given to Ngatirarua in the deed of Sale Ngatirarua claims. executed by Waitara Takerei for Awakino on the coast of Mokau. Receipt for £10.
