Translation.

Wehave received from Mr. McLean on the first day of 1854. 1 August.Mokau District. August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four (1854) the sum of One hundred pounds £100 once told being a payment for all our lands at Awakino at Papaiatai and on to Taumatamaire Now we have for ever bidden farewell to and for ever given up this land Awakino. to the Queen of England. If our right to sell this land be disputed by the people Receipt for £100. residing upon it, we will pay for these monies with our lands at Taeaha and on to Piako. Boundaries. The boundaries of the land and our consent are written upon the paper which is attached to this.
