Translation.
1854. 6 November.Whaingaroa DistrictWe have received this day the sum of Forty pounds (£40) being a
first instalment for our lands situated on the coast of Whaingaroa, the names of
which are, Patikirau, Tokamawhitiwhiti, Te Wakaauakitahi, Kawakawa, Rukuruku and
finishing at Tauterei. These monies will be repaid by us to Mr. McLean when we give
up this land hereafter. Te Akau. In testimony whereof we hereunto affix our names and marks on the sixth day
of Receipt for £40, advance November 1854.
