Translation.

1854. 14 July.We have received from Mr. McLean this fourteenth day of July in the year 1854 the Whaingaroa. sum of Fifty Pounds (£50) once told as a payment for all our claims to land at Receipt for £50 Whaingaroa which we now for ever give up and transfer to the Queen of England for ever with its timber and all thereunto appertaining. In testimony of our receipt of Epiha's claims these Fifty pounds and of our consent to the particulars of this deed we hereunto affix our names and marks.
