Translation.
1859. 18 May.I Hami agree this, day the, 13th May in the year 1859, to give up
to the Queen the Lower Waikato District piece of land for the new road to Mangatawhiri, laid; out by Mr. Ormsby, the
road is to be one chain wide, including also the space between the said road and the
boundary of the land which was sold, to the Queen formerly. The payment for this,
that is; for Mangatawhiri. the road and the piece of land in question is two pounds. And in
acknowledgement of Receipt for £2, for fight of road: the receipt of the said money from Mr. Rogan and of all the terms in this
paper, I have here written my name, for us all.
