Translation.

We have Received this twenty second (22nd) day of June in the year of our Lord 1854. 22 June. one thousand eight hundred and fifty four (1854) the sum of Thirty pounds (£30) once told, from Mr. McLean, as a payment for our land named Rawhitu, at Waikato. Waikato District. These are the boundaries, commencing on the South side at Te Karaka, thence to Korongo Rawhitu. tehoi, thence turning to Waiwhatu, thence to Waitapu, thence to the Waikato river, Receipt for £30. along the course of which it proceeds to the starting point at Te Karaka. Now we have Boundaries. for ever given up this land to Victoria the Queen of England, and to the Kings or Queens who may succeed her for ever. And in testimony of our having received these monies we have hereunto affixed our names and marks.
