1874. 24 July.Coromandel District.Know all men by these presents that Thomas Russell of Auckland in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand, solicitor, being the person mentioned and described in the Deed of Conveyance hereunto annexed registered as No. 2761d in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty six pounds paid on behalf of Her Pukeatua. Receipt for £126. Majesty Queen Victoria to him, he the said Thomas Russell Doth hereby convey and assure unto Her Majesty Queen Victoria, All that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland [239a. 1r. 20p.] in the Colony of New Zealand called or known by the name of Pukeatua and described in the said Deed of conveyance hereunto annexed, and all and every the right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Russell of in to or in respect of the same, To hold the same to Her Majesty Queen Victoria Her heirs successors and assigns for ever. In Witness whereof the said Thomas Russell has hereunto subscribed his name this twenty fourth day of July 1874.

1872. 22 March.Coromandel District. This Deed made the twenty second day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy two, Between Hoani Te Kiripakeke of Waiau in the District of Coromandel in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand an aboriginal Native of the one part and Thomas Russell of the city of Auckland in the said Province Esquire Pukeatua.Receipt for £60. of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds paid by the said Thomas Russell to the said Hoani te Kiripakeke (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) He the said Hoani Te Kiripakeke doth hereby convey and assure unto the said Thomas Russell his heirs and assigns, All that parcel of land situated at Waiau in the District of Coromandel in the said Province of Auckland and called Boundaries[239a.1r. 20p] or known by the name of " Pukeatua" containing by admeasurement two hundred and thirty nine acres one rood and twenty perches more or less, Bounded towards the North East by lines two hundred and fourteen links, two hundred and thirty seven links, three hundred and forty two links, one hundred and ten links, one hundred and seventy one links, two hundred and seventy four links, two hundred and thirty links, one hundred and ninety links, five hundred and twenty eight links, two hundred and fifty links, three hundred and seventy five links, two hundred and ninety nine links five hundred and seventy links, one hundred and twenty four links, and one hundred and fifty six links, towards the South by the Waiau number one block, ten thousand and thirty three links and by the Totorewa Creek and towards the North West by Crown land one hundred and eighty six links, five hundred links, three hundred links, nine hundred links, seven hundred links, four hundred links, two hundred and ninety three links, six hundred and ten links, one hundred and ninety six links and six thousand three hundred and one links as the same is delineated by the plan drawn hereon edged red, With all the rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging and alse the Crown Grant thereof. To hold the same unto the said Thomas Russel his heirs and assigns for ever In witness whereof the said parties have hereunto subscribed their names.

Declaration of Edward Davis. I Edward Davis of Coromandel in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand Licensed Interpreter of the Maori language do solemnly and sincerely declare—

1.	I hold a certificate authorizing me to act as Interpreter under " The Native Lands Act 1865," The Native Lands Act 1867," and the Native Lands Act 1869 " which certificate is in full force and effect.
2.	I was present together with William Joseph Young of Auckland in the said Province Licensed Interpreter and did see the said Hoani te Kiripakeke party to the within written Deed sign and execute the same on the twenty second day of March one thousand eight hundred and seventy two.
3.	Immediately before the execution of the said Deed by the said Hoani te Kiripakeke I did faithfully interpret the same into the Maori language to him and my translation was correct and was understood by the said Hoani te Kiripakeke.
4.	The names E. Davis and W. J. Young set and subscribed as those of the attesting witnesses to the execution of the said Deed are of the propet handwriting of the said William Joseph Young and of me this declarant and the said William Joseph Young is a male adult and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled " The Justices of the Peace Act 1866."
