Translation

Translation.

1848. 17 January.Kaitara or Kauri.We the undersigned hereby agree to sell to the Queen of England and her heirs for ever a portion of Land situate on the South West bank of the Harbor of Manuka by name Kaitara or Kauri for the consideration of one hundred pounds.
Boundaries. The boundaries of said Land are as follows Commencing at a point of Land named Kaitara whence thro' the woods until it reaches a place named Waimatuku on the sea shore, whence along the sea shore to Puketapu whence thro' the woods until it reaches a place named Hauputangata on the Manuka Harbor, whence along the shores of the Manuka till it adjoins Waitaia Point.

We acknowledge that the contents of this Document are correct we therefore affix our names and marks on this 17th day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.
