Translation.

This Deed entered into on the Fifth day of April in the year 1853 the consenting of us 1853. 5 April.Kahawai. the Chiefs of the Maungaunga the consenting also of the Queen of England on her part now we the owners of the Land described in this Deed do now consent to sell this Land to Queen Victoria for the sum of £100 now given to us for this we give and make over to Victoria the Queen of England and her Heirs for ever this Land and all thereto belonging.
The Boundaries are these on the West by the Manuka creek on the South at the Boundaries. Manuka creek beginning at a place called Kaiarara and going on until it enters the creek of Otawahi on the East by the creek of the Mauku going on to the North this Boundary being the windings of the Mauku creek until it enters the Manuka creek and joins the West Boundary. A sketch of this Land is on the other side.
