Translation.
This Deed entered into on the Fifteenth day of April in the
year One thousand Eight 1853. 15 April.Auckland District. Hundred and fifty three, the consenting of Tautari a Chief of the Nga
Tiwhatua the consenting also of the Queen on her part, now I the owner of the
Land described in this Deed do now agree to sell this land to Queen Victoria for
the sum of Thirty Pounds Papakoura. now given by Mr. Ligar to me for this I give and let Victoria Queen of
England and her Heirs for ever this Land and all thereto belonging the
Boundaries being these on Boundaries. the East by the Block of land sold to Mr. Russell and on to the creek
Rangitopuni that creek and on to a very small creek called Te Papakoura on the
South by the said Papakoura and by the road on to the boundary of Pukeharakeke
on the West by the boundary of Pukeharakeke as cut on the ground thence to the
large Hill and on to the land of Mr. Russell. This Land being mine I agree to
satisfy all men who may make a claim to it in future. A sketch of this land is
on the other side.

Given to me by Mr. Ligar the sum

day the Fifteenth of April in the Year of our Lord
