Translation.
This Deed written on the 26th day of November 1851 is an
Agreement between us 1851. 26 November.Rarawaru. Chiefs of Ngatiwhatua and the Queen of England whereby we the owners of
the piece of land described in this deed consent to sell the same to Queen
Victoria in consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds sterling now given to
us, wherefore we give and deliver over to Victoria Queen of England and to her
Successors for ever the said piece of land and all that belongs to it bounded as
follows On the North by the River Waitemata, Boundaries on the East by Crown land that which formerly belonged to Wellesley
Hughes on the South by Crown land which formerly belonged to Berrey and on the
West by the same land until the boundary reaches the Waitemata. The plan is
drawn on the other side.
