Okahu Block (part of), Waiwerawera, Mahurangi District.
1873. 8 February.Mahurangi District.This Deed made the Eighth day of February one thousand eight
hundred and seventy three Between Te Hemara Tauhia of the District of Mahurangi
in the Province of Okahu. Auckland and Colony of New Zealand an aboriginal Native of New Zealand
of the one part and Her Majesty Queen Victoria of the other part Witnesseth that
in consideration of the sum of Five hundred Pounds to the said Te Hemara Tauhia
by Her Majesty paid Receipt for £500. (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) He the said Te Hemara
Tauhia doth hereby convey and assure unto her said Majesty her heirs successors
and assigns All that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of
New Zealand containing by admeasurement Two thousand four hundred and eight
acres more or less situate at Waiwerawera in the District of Mahurangi County of
Marsden being called or known by the name of "Okahu" and numbered eighty six
Bounded towards the North by Te Pukapuka Block three hundred and seventy two
links Three thousand and ninety links Six hundred and eighty links Two hundred
and forty two links Three hundred and twenty eight links Five hundred and five
links Seven hundred and thirty one links and Three thousand six hundred and
eighty links and by the Huawai Block Two thousand three hundred and thirty links
towards the East by the Puhoi Block towards the South by the Waiwerawera River
towards the South West by a line eight thousand seven hundred and eighty links
and towards the West by a line Seventeen thousand six hundred and fifty five
links As delineated by the plan drawn in the margin Exceptions as per schedule. hereof Save and Excepting nevertheless out of the Conveyance and
assurance hereby made so much and such portions of said parcel of land as are
specified in the schedule hereto With all the rights and appurtenances
whatsoever thereunto belonging To hold the said parcel of land hereditaments and
premises subject to the reservations aforesaid unto Her said Majesty Her heirs
successors and assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said Te Hemara Tauhia
hath hereunto subscribed his name
