Translation.

This Deed entered into on the first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand 1853 1 July. eight hundred and fifty three being the consent of us the Chiefs of the Nga Tiwatua Kaipara District. also the consent of the Queen of England for herself. Now we Manihera, Wiremu and Wirihana the owners of the land specified in this Deed do now agree to sell this land to Kaiakeake. Queen Victoria for the sum of Ten pounds now given to us on this the first day of July 1853, for this we give and let to Victoria Queen of England and Her Heirs and successors for ever, This land and all that thereto belongs. The Boundaries are as Boundaries. follows, on the East it joins the block of land as sold to Mr. Elliott, on the North it joins the Rangitopuni and Ararima as defined in the sale of the said land to the Queen, on the West it joins Kaipukau on the South it joins the Kauri as defined in the sale to the Queen.
