This Deed executed at Auckland on the 26th day of May in the Year of Our Lord One 1855. 26 May.Whangarei District. thousand eight hundred and fifty five being the sale of the undermentioned Lands by us whose signatures are attached to this Paper. We the undersigned Chiefs and freemen have authority to dispose of this land on behalf of ourselves on behalf of our relations Ruarangi. on behalf of our friends and of our children who may survive us and we do hereby entirely surrender this piece of our land to the Queen Victoria of England and her. Receipt for £700. Heirs for ever in consideration of the sum of seven hundred pounds sterling which we have this day received at the hands of John Grant Johnson Esquire a Commissioner for the purchase of Land on behalf of the Governor of New Zealand. The following are Boundaries. the boundaries of the said Land, commencing at Nga Toka at the source of the stream of Tauraroa, thence down the course of the said stream to Ruarangi, Kahutoki, Kiporo, Papakarangi, Whaingaru, Wharewhiti, Whai-toma, Wharekawhetu, Taiparea where the river ceases to be the boundary thence across the Kauriwhakao to the stream of Waiotira thence down the course of the Waiotira to Pakara te Wai thence in a straight line to the stream Taka te Aria thence across the stream to Te Ngaho o te Hauhau thence in an easterly direction till it joins the boundary of the Government Block of Waipu thence along the black line of the Waipu till it joins the Boundary of the Lands of the Chief Mate at Nga Toka aforesaid. We have finally taken leave of and entirely given up this our land to the Queen Victoria with all its streams lakes waters grass trees rocks cliffs and all things thereunto belonging above and below the said Land. In witness whereof we hereby sign our names on this 26th day of May in the year of Our Lord 1855.
