1872. 21 NovemberHokianga District. This Deed made the Twenty first day of November One thousand eight hundred and seventy two Between Makarena te Waharoa and Rawiri Te Tahua both of Hokianga in Karuhiruhl. the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand Aboriginal natives of the one part and Her Majesty Queen Victoria of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration Receipt for £1,100. of the sum of Eleven Hundred Pounds paid by Her said Majesty The Queen to the said Makarena te Waharoa and Rawiri te Tahua (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) They the said Makarena te Waharoa and Rawiri Te Tahua do and each of them doth hereby convey and assure unto Her Majesty the Queen Her successors and assigns All that piece or parcel of land at Wirinaki in the District of Hokianga in the Province of Auckland aforesaid and called or known by the name of Karuhiruhi containing by Boundaries. [5,280 acres.] admeasurement Five thousand two hundred and eighty acres more or less Bounded towards the North by lines commencing at Kohuka on the Wirinaki River one thousand eight hundred links and three thousand four hundred links to Mataronui towards the East by lines Three hundred and twelve links Three hundred and eight links three hundred and sixty four links three hundred links five hundred and five links and one hundred and seventy two links to Tutetaua again towards the North by lines Three thousand one hundred and fifty links three thousand nine hundred and forty six links to the Wharekauwhire River towards the North East by the Wharekauwhire River and by a line seven thousand eight hundred and sixty five links to Pukekoha again towards the East by lines Eleven thousand three hundred and sixty eight links fourteen thousand nine hundred and seven links three thousand four hundred and seven links seven hundred and thirty three links Two hundred and sixty five links two hundred and fifty four links five hundred and sixty six links two thousand seven hundred and sixteen links and one hundred and ninety links to the Wirinaki River towards the South by the Wirinaki River and towards the West by lines Two thousand three hundred and sixty links two thousand four hundred and forty links Two thousand two hundred and eighty five links one thousand five hundred and eighty five links three thousand and sixty six links seven thousand seven hundred and eighty one links One thousand three hundred and sixty nine links three thousand six hundred and twelve links nine hundred and forty six links five hundred and thirty three links six hundred and sixty five links Two thousand one hundred and four links five thousand eight hundred and forty eight links one thousand links two thousand four hundred links five thousand links three thousand six hundred and fifty five links and four thousand nine hundred and seventy two links to Kohuku the point first mentioned As the same parcel of land is delineated by the plan drawn hereon Together with all the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging To hold unto Her Majesty The Queen Her Successors and assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said parties have hereunto subscribed their names.
