Omahuta No. 1 Block, Hokianga District.

1875. 12 June.Hokianga District.This Deed, made the twelfth, day of June 1875, between Her Majesty Queen Victoria Omahuta No. I. on the one part, and Hori Hare, Riria Te Nao, Taniora Te Mato and Taniora Kowhiti of Hokianga Aboriginal Natives of the Colony of New Zealand, (hereinafter called "the Vendors,") of the other part, witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of one Reciept for £129 . 3. hundred and twenty nine pounds three shillings (£129 . 3 . 0) by Her Majesty paid to the Vendors on the execution hereof (and the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged), the Vendors do, and each of them doth, hereby surrender, convey, and assure unto Her said Majesty, all that block or parcel of land containing One thousand seven hundred and twenty two acres or thereabouts, known or called Omahuta No. 1 as the same is more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and delineated on the plan drawn on this Deed and coloured red, together with all rights and appurtenances thereto belonging or appertaining.

To hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances unto Her said Majesty, Her Heirs and Successors, for ever. In Witness whereof the Vendors have hereunto set their hands the day and year first above written.

Signed by the said Hori Hare, Riria Te Nao, Taniora Te Mato and Taniora Kowiti after the contents had been explained to them by an Interpreter of the Court and they appearing clearly to understand the same. In the presence of—

Boundaries. [1,722 acres.]All that block or parcel of land in the Province of Auckland, District of Hokianga, containing one thousand seven hundred and twenty-two (1722) acres or thereabouts, called or known as Omahuta No. 1. Bounded—On the East by the Pupuke Block five hundred and eighty-two (582) links, three hundred and eleven (311) links, two hundred and forty-five (245) links, three hundred and ninety-three (393) links, three thousand nine hundred and twenty-one (3921) links, and three thousand and ninety-six (3096) links, and the Whakateterekia River; towards the South by a line one thousand three hundred and eight (1308) links; towards the South-east by lines three thousand four hundred and thirty-three (3433) links, two thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight (2858) links, two thousand five hundred and forty (2540) links, two thousand two hundred and ninety-five (2295) links, and one thousand nine hundred and thirty (1930) links; and towards the West by the Omahuta No. 2 Block sixteen thousand nine hundred and forty (16940) links, and the Kauriputete Block two thousand two hundred and forty-nine (2249) links, one thousand one hundred and forty-one (1141) links, one thousand one hundred and ninety-nine (1199) links, one thousand six hundred and ninety-five (1695) links, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine (1939) links, six hundred and fifty (650) links, nine hundred and ninety-seven (997) links, nine hundred and twelve (912) links, six hundred and forty-nine (649) links, and two hundred and eighty-five (285) links.
Maori précis. He pukapuka tuku rawa atu tenei na Hori Hare, Riria Te Nao, Taniora, Te Mato, Taniora Kowhiti i tera whenua katoa tona ingoa ko Omahuta No. 1 kia Wikitoria Kuini o Ingarangi ki ona uri ki nga Kingi ki nga Kuini i muri i a ia ake tonu atu.

Ko te utu mo taua whenua Kotahi rau e rua tekau maiwa pauna me te toru hereni Ko te nui Kotahi mano e whitu rau e rua tekau ma rua eka koni ake iti iho ranei Ko nga rohe enei Ki te Marangai Ko "Pupuke" he whenua kua oti te ruri 582, 311, 245, 393, 3921, 3096 riniki Ko te awa o "Whakiteterekia." Ki te Tonga he raina 1308 riniki. Ki te Tonga-tua-Marangai he raina 3433, 2858, 2540, 2295, 1930 riniki. Ki te Hauauru Ko "Omahuta No. 2" ko "Kauriputete" he whenua kua oti te ruri.
