Translation.
1875. 4 June.Aotea District.This Deed made the fourth day of June one thousand eight
hundred and seventy five Between Hone te One of Aotea in the Province of
Auckland in New Zealand an aboriginal Native Chief hereinafter called the vendor
of the one part and Her Majesty Queen Victoria of the other part, Witnesseth
that in consideration of the sum of Two Parish Pirongia, Allt. 327. hundred and fifty pounds paid by Her said Majesty Queen Victoria to the
said vendor (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) He the said vendor doth
hereby convey page 620
and assure unto Her
said Majesty Queen Victoria her successors and assigns, All that parcel of land
in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand containing by
admeasurement five hundred and sixty six acres more or less and being allotment
Receipt for £250. number three
hundred and twenty seven in the Parish of Pirongia, County of Rutland, Boundaries. [566 acres.] Bounded towards
the North East by allotment number Twenty three, five thousand one hundred and
ninety six links by a road one hundred links wide one hundred and nineteen links
and two hundred and ninety links, by allotment number Twenty two four thousand
one hundred and eighty four links and by allotment number three hundred and
twenty eight, nine hundred and eighty links, Towards the East by allotment
number Three hundred and five, two thousand six hundred and seventy links,
Towards the North by allotment number Three hundred and five aforesaid, two
thousand and forty links Again towards the East by allotment number three
hundred and six, one thousand six hundred and thirty seven links, Towards the
South by a line eight thousand seven hundred links, and towards the West by a
line twelve thousand and twenty five links. Subject nevertheless to the right of
the Governor at any time hereafter to take and lay off for public purposes one
or more line or lines of road through the said land, provided that the total
quantity to be taken for such line or lines of road shall not be more that
twenty eight acres one rood as the same is delineated on the plan drawn on the
margin hereof With all the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging, To hold
the same unto her said Majesty Queen Victoria her successors and assigns for
ever, In witness whereof the said Hone to One hath hereunto subscribed his name.
