Translation.

1850. 12 July.Waipa District.This Deed written on the 12th day of July one thousand eight hundred and fifty is an Agreement between certain of the Chiefs of Otawhao at Waikato and the Queen of England on her own behalf whereby the owners of the piece of land described in this Awamutu Pa. Deed consent to sell the Awamutu Pa at Otawhao to the Queen Victoria in consideration of three pounds now given to us wherefore we give and deliver over to Victoria Native school land. Queen of England and to Her Successors for ever the before mentioned piece of land and Boundaries. all thereto belonging bounded as follows on the North by the River Mangaoi on the East by the land before sold to Mr. Morgan for the Church Missionary Committee of London on the South by the land of the Church Missionary Committee of London and on the West by the land of the Church Missionary Committee of London, the plan of it is drawn on the other side of this Deed.
Receipt for £3. We have received three pounds as before mentioned therefore we sign our names this twelfth day of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
