Translation.

This Deed written on the tenth day of July in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty is an Agreement between certain Chiefs of Ngatiruru living 1850. 10 July.Waipa District. at Otawhao at Waikato and the Queen of England on her own behalf Whereby we the owners of the land described in this Deed consent to sell it to Queen Victoria in consideration of the sum Otawhao School Land. of two pounds ten shillings now given to us Wherefore we give and deliver over to Victoria Queen of England and to Her Heirs and Successors that piece of land and all thereto belonging bounded as follows, on the South by the boundary of the land Boundaries. b formerly given by Te Whero Whero to the Queen for the School at Otawhao as measured by the Surveyor General 2130 links on the East part by the beforementioned land given by Te Whero Whero for the School and partly by the land purchased by the Reverend Mr. Morgan for the Church Missionary Committee of London 1600 links the boundary on the North West commences at the boundary of the beforementioned land given by Te Whero Whero on the top of the hill Tapuwakaroro goes thence to the Native path to Otaua to the Survey line of the Surveyor General to the post placed on the North side of the Ruatiutiu 1600 links from the South East corner of the land before given by Te Whero Whero for the School at Otawhao, the plan is drawn on the other side of this Deed.
We have received the consideration mentioned in this Deed wherefore we sign our Receipt for £2 . 10. names this tenth day of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
