Maori Deeds of Land Purchases in the North Island of New Zealand: Volume One

Memo

Memo.

The amount expressed in this deed as the consideration is the actual amount Memorandum. paid to the owners on the signing of the, deed by them but this amount is a portion of the sum of eignt hundred and forty two pounds four shillings and four pence £842 " 4 " 4 named in the first deed as the consideration. The reason for this having been done was that when the first deed was prepared it was intended that the same document should have been taken round to be signed by the rest of the owners: however when the time came the first deed was not in Auckland having been sent to Wellington by order.
