This Deed, made the fifteenth day of June 1875, between Her Majesty Queen Victoria 15 June 1875Mangonui District. on the one part, and Te Waaka Rangaunu—Ngawini—Raiha Tamaho—Kingi Hori te Te Puhata No. I. Kauau—Paraihe—Komene Moihi—Wiremu Tana Papahia—Te Whiu Hautapu—Mita Te Puku—Poharama Toatahi—Iehu Ngawaka—Ritete Puiti—Wiremu Tarapunga—Tapakoru —Himi te Kaka—Wi Te Take—Hoani Moekahakaha—Mita Hui—Hetaraka— Mereana Paraihe—Riwini—Kaperiere te Huhu—Pakenga—Te Waipouri—Hohapata— Komene Whitirau—Rutene—Hoani Taiwhare—Te Warihi—Wikiriwhi—Ihaia—Hohaia Kapana—Wataria—Taueru—Takiora—Wiki te Ra—Poharama Toatahi—Maihi te Huhu—Karena te Aka—Henare Marua—Penekorako—and Taiawhio te Maki of Ahipara and Hokianga, Aboriginal Natives of the Colony of New Zealand (hereinafter called "the Vendors,") of the other part witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and seventy one pounds sixteen shillings and four pence (£271. 16. 4) by Her Majesty paid to the Vendors on the execution hereof (and the receipt whereof Receipt for £271. 16. 4. is hereby acknowledged) the Vendors do, and each of them doth, hereby surrender, convey, and assure unto Her said Majesty, all that block or parcel of land containing three thousand three hundred and fifty two (3352) acres or thereabouts, known or called Te Puhata, as the same is more particularly described in the schedule hereto, and delineated on the plan drawn on this Deed and coloured red; together with all rights and appurtenances thereto belonging or appertaining. To hold the said Land and premises with the appurtenances unto Her said Majesty, Her Heirs and Successors for ever. In Witness whereof the Vendors have hereunto set their hands the day and year first above written.

Signed by the said Te Waka Rangaunu, Ngawini, Raiha Tamaho, Kingi Hori te Kawau, Paraihe, Komene Moihi, Wiremu Tana Papahia, Te Whiu Hautapu, Poharama Toatahi, Mita Te Puku, Iehu Ngawaka, Ritete Puiti, Wiremu Tarapunga, Wi Te Take, Tapakoru, Mita Hui, Mereana Paraihe, Hetaraka, Kaperiere Te Huhu, Te Waipouri, Komene Whitirau, Rutene, Te Warihi, Wikiriwhi, Ihaia, Wikitera, Henare Marua, Karena Te Aka, Taiawhio Te Maki, and Maihi Te Huhu after the contents had been explained to them by an Interpreter of the Court and they appearing clearly to understand the meaning of the same on the day above named In the presence of—
